Services

Regular physical examinations are incredibly important to your pet's health. Pets age more rapidly than people and can develop disease conditions that can go unnoticed, even to the most attentive pet owner. Veterinarians are skilled in detecting conditions that have gradual onset and subtle signs. Early detection allows many problems to be treated before they pose a significant health threat to your pet. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. We offer a wide range of veterinary services to keep your companions feeling their best:
Acupuncture: Acupuncture can be used for a variety of conditions, including arthritis, muscle soreness, disk problems, seizures, asthma, diarrhea, vomiting, kidney failure, and others. Our doctors also prescribe herbal remedies in conjunction with regular acupuncture treatments.
Anesthesia: We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients. Using the most modern equipment, the patient's vital signs are monitored during all anesthetic procedures by our well trained veterinarians and technicians.
Dentistry: Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, dental X-rays, tooth extractions and minor oral surgery.
Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: Our hospital is well equipped to provide prompt, accurate diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pet's complete health needs.
Dietary Counseling: We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance.
Doppler Blood Pressure: Hypertension (high blood pressure) can affect both cats and dogs. Doppler is the most reliable way to measure indirect blood pressure in our veterinary patients. It is a painless and non-invasive test that gives us invaluable information regarding your pet's health.
Flea Prevention: In addition to offering a full range of traditional over the counter and prescription flea treatment products (Frontline, Interceptor, Sentinel, Revolution), we have also created an all natural flea preventation kit. This natural alternative covers three areas of prevention: (1) outdoor environment; (2) indoor environment; and (3) pet control. The outdoor flea preventative utilizes beneficial nematodes that are safe for humans, plants and pets. They aid in the prevention of fleas by killing the two immature stages of the fleas in our yards so adult fleas never develop there and attach to our pets. The nematodes are sprayed in the yard in early May and then again in late fall. The indoor flea control approach utilizes a borate powder based product called Flea Busters, which is applied to carpets and baseboards in the home each Spring. This powder is statically charged so it will remain effective and stay attached to carpet fibers even with vacuuming. The powder essentially dries out the baby fleas and flea eggs, dehydrating them so they cannot develop into an adult flea that will attach to your pet. Lastly we have assembled a calming shampoo with pure neem oil as an adult flea preventative. Neem oil is a repellent as well as a natural insecticide so it will prevent fleas from existing and feeding on our pets. The neem oil application is only recommended for dogs, but the other environmental products can be used in cat households. Please stop by for detailed instructions or call us to order your kit. The nematodes need to be applied early May so we will be ordering them throughout April.
Laboratory: Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis and parasite testing. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.
Permanent identification: We offer Avid microchip implantation in order to ensure permanent identification.
Pharmacy: We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of prescription feline and canine diets.
Radiology Services: Our on-site, up-to-date x-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders.
Surgical Services: Our state-of-the-art surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures (spay, neuter, mass removal, and more).
Ultrasound: We maintain high quality ultrasound equipment and offer abdominal ultrasounds, echocardiograms, and other services that are often only found at specialty veterinary centers.
Vaccinations: We provide all vaccinations that are needed to keep your dog and cat healthy without over vaccinating. We also offer vaccine titers tests for clients who prefer to minimize the number of vaccines their pet receives.
